I predict a ….European Cup?!
Now after all the celebrations following the Munich tournament we can say once more: What a fantastic victory and what a day to remember! Both Mens and Ladies teams came away victorious after a strongly contested tournament and so took a serious step closer to the European championship. The tournament itself had almost perfect conditions: the ideal irish (rainy) weather, great teams to play against and two very strong Munich teams ready to give it all. Munich teams win home tournament
In some classic games of football, Munich Mens and Ladies teams win and take the first round of the European League ! more to come after the celebration….. Munich take Vienna again
Saturday May 27th 2006 Munich Mens Football team came away sucessful for the 2nd year running in Vienna. With a few logistical problems with the GPS (aka Nora), Munich made it to the pitch after 2.5 hours of looking at the other Steinergasse’s in Vienna. Munich played, against their old rivals Budapest in the first game, winning by 5 points. Then swiftly followed by playing the home side, and after a close match Munich won by 2 points. Munich come 2nd in Budapest
On Saturday the 22rd April Munich traveled to Bucarest Budapest in Romania Hungry. Four teams (Budapest, Copenhagen, Vienna & Munich) from the Eastern European League were present. With temperatures hitting over 25°, our boys had to acclimatise very quickly indeed. Munich won all 3 of the group games, sometimes with only the narrowest of margins and made it into the final against the home team of Budapest.
