St. Patricks Day 2011, a thank you

This year has been one of the most successful St. Patrick’s Day Parade to-date, and we would like to thank everyone who came and visited our stand on Odeonsplatz in Munich on Sunday. For once the weather was on our side, and we were glad to see many happy (and thirsty) faces. Further information on the event can be seen on the official webpage, www.stpatricksday.de.

We would also like to thank all club members who helped through out the day, to insure that the parade was a successful day for the club.

2011 Training Season

For those of you interested in joining in our 2011 season, you should make sure you are signed up for our news updates, as details of training times and locations will be send to all who have signed up. Munich Colmcilles is a very multicultural club, and we extend the offer to anyone to come to our training a few times to see what Gaelic Football is all about.

Our AGM was held on Thursday 18th of November at our club house in Gartenstadt. Here is the results of the elections for the new committee.

Here are some pictures from the clubs outing to the GreenFarm festival. The festival, which is in it’s 2nd year, took place an organic farm north of Munich. The farm is in Hallbergmoos which about 25km from Munich in the direction of the airport.

Green Farm 2008

Green Farm appearance

This coming weekend, June 20th-22nd, is the annual Irish festival in Hauslerhof, in Hallbergmoos. It is a 3 day event with Irish bands, dancing, food, drink and sport. A guaranteed day of fun for all ages and interests.

The Munich Colmcilles will be taking part in this event on Sunday, 22nd of June at 2pm. We will have a football and hurling demonstation course for anyone interested in trying or seeing either sport.
