Ladies with Lion hearts
June 6th, 2006 by Niall (PRO) McCorleyThe Luxembourg tournament was the first for the Ladies Gaelic Football Team in 2006and one can truly say they fought like Lions! Training having only started in April and many players having been injured or sick recently the Ladies Team still travelled with a big number and high expectations to supposedly sunny Luxembourg.In lashing rain and on a muddy pitch the Luxembourg tournament started with a match against Maastricht that the Munich Ladies won (Maastricht 0-4, Munich 1-4). This was followed by tough matches against the Netherlands, Paris and Luxembourg. Even though they didn’t make it into the Final the Munich Ladies fought well and gave a taste of what’s to come when the team fully develops it’s strength.This team has enormous potential and we are very much looking forward to seeing more of it in the Munich tournament at the end of July.
