On February 26th 2008, the was a State Visit to Munich, by Irish President Mary McAleese. Some of the members of the Club were present at the event. The President mentioned many of the events that the club was involved in, including the St. Patricks Day Parade in Munich (www.stpatricksday.de). She said that “The Munich parade is the biggest east of the Liffey”. For those of you who are interested in attending the parade, it will take place on Sunday 16 March 2008. This is the 13th St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Munich. The parade starts from Münchner Freiheit at 12 noon and will progress down Leopold-/Ludwigstrasse to finish at Odeonsplatz. After speeches from the guests of honour, a programme of Celtic music and dance will be held at Odeonsplatz.
