    Training updates July 2009 & some news

    The Munich leg of the European GAA tournament is about 3 weeks away (July 25th) and our mens and ladies teams will now be training more regularly. This is the final push to get teams ready for the tournament. Ladies Team Next training session is Saturday 4th of July at 12pm, and after that training will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7pm. The extra training session on Thursdays will be on a trial basis, and will depend on attendance whether it will be continued for the next few weeks or not.     3rd Greenfarm Festival

    Hallbergmoos 19. – 21. Juni 2009 A weekend of Dance, Music, Culture, Scottish madness, exotic games of hurling and Tim’s pies!     The 2009 season starts

    Training times for both the mens and ladies teams are now available. As the pitches are not open yet, we will start training on the all weather pitch (so please bring runners and football boots). It is expected that the pitches will have recovered from their snowy winter and will be open in the middle of April. For further details on what is happening with regards to training, we would advise you to keep an eye on the message board thread about the 2009 training schedule.

    Ladies Football Team meeting 2009 season

    A players meeting is planned for this Friday for the Munich Colmcilles Ladies team. Plans and dates of tournamnets for 2009 will be discussed.     Munich Tournament Results 2008

    The scores are available are available to download via this PDF. Congratulations goes to the Ladies team from Belgium and the Mens Team from Luxembourg for taking their respective Championship titles and to Copenhagen Mens Team for winning their first Mens Shield title of 2008.     Limited Banquet places available

    There is still a limited amount of space left at our post tournament banquet on Saturday 26th of July. This year it will be taking place at the Hofbräukeller at Weinerplatz (near Max Weber Platz U-Bahn station, see www.hofbraeukeller.de). If you would like to come along please get in contact with us and we will send you all the details. The meal starts at 8:30pm, and will be in the upstairs function room at the Hofbräukeller.     Munich does Vienna again and again and again and again

    Saturday 03/26/08 – 4 in a row! The Munich mens football took the road for the first time in 2008 with a fairly light load. 11 players and 1 mentor left Munich at 7.30am for the 4 hour trip to Puckersdorf, a small village 30 minutes from the host city, Vienna. Upon arrival the lads were presented with 2 problems. The goals posts that were to be attached to soccer goals to enable the superstar, Todd, to kick points were missing.     Munich Colmcilles Club Representatives meet Irish President

    On February 26th 2008, the was a State Visit to Munich, by Irish President Mary McAleese. Some of the members of the Club were present at the event. The President mentioned many of the events that the club was involved in, including the St. Patricks Day Parade in Munich (www.stpatricksday.de). She said that “The Munich parade is the biggest east of the Liffey”. For those of you who are interested in attending the parade, it will take place on Sunday 16 March 2008.
